World Apart Movement

Just your average 19 year old college student dedicated to educating women throughout the Middle East by raising both awareness and funds to send to those in need.

Hi Everyone! It has been a successful summer and now I’m off to college to start my sophomore year at a small liberal arts school in New York City! I am pleased to say we raised over $150 in over a few short months. Realistically speaking, I will be unable at the time to continue making cases. I play sports in college and have a tight schedule, so I will be taking a temporary hiatus but will hopefully be able to put a few more up over Winter Break. I want to thank everyone for all of my support and helping women in Afghanistan achieve their dreams of education. With your help, women across the world came a little bit closer to equality. Thanks again and have an awesome year!

Mal

“Mallory, there are no words to describe how proud I am that you are making your dream become a reality, as well as trying to make the dreams of women in the Middle East become a reality at the same time. And for such a great cause! It has truly been an honor to know such an incredible human being as yourself. You’re an amazing woman, Mal. Thank you for making the world a better place”

Just completed my third $50 donation to Afghan Institute of Learning. With iPhones at only $15 we have raised over $150 in only two months!

Check out Watan Afghanistan! These awesome people are raising money for Afghan children in need. Here are some important facts they want you to know:

  • Only half of the children in Afghanistan attend school (There are 31 million citizens of Afghanistan and 50% of them are under the age of 15).
  • 1 in 4 Afghan children die before they reach their fifth birthday, often from preventable diseases and malnutrition.
  • By donating school supplies and winter coats or the money to fund those items, you are helping save lives.

Thank you!

From the archives: Female protesters in Sara Square on March 25, 2011. The protests sweeping the Middle East motivated thousands of Kurds from all walks of life to demonstrate in cities across Iraqi Kurdistan earlier in the year. For 60 consecutive days, protesters met in Sara Square to call for an end to widespread corruption and greater civil and political rights - until security forces violently intervened on April 18, 2011.

It’s too bad the commentators had to remark on foreign troop numbers instead of any of the other amazing and interesting things about Afghanistan, but we were still thrilled to see them representing.

I would just like to express how incredible it is every time someone someone purchases from World Apart. Donating your money turns these women’s dreams into realities.

For example:

  • $25 - 15 women will learn to read
  • $50 - 36 women will receive health services
  • $75 - 44 girls will learn computer skills

Today, I’m making World Apart’s second $50 donation!
